The Raised Bed Decking sides are made of 2 sections of decking without a bottom or base to allow them to be used to extend a flower bed. The inside of the planter is lined with heavy-duty plastic lining to help protect the inside of the planter. The planter will require no assembly and will be able to be used right away. As the planter is raised off the ground this helps to limit some of the potential weeds/pests that may affect your flowers and vegetables. The planters are built using quality wood and fixings ensuring that they are strong and durable in the British weather. When empty the planter is easily moveable so installation should not be a problem. All of the corners on our decking planter have mitered cuts on every layer to give a seamless look. On each corner, two screws will be visible which are the fixings for each section. The layers are stacked on top of each other until the desired height is met. Most of the fixings are on the inside of the planter making as little seen as possible once the planter is in use. The boards used have a height of 120mm and a thickness of 32mm. Each compartment of the planter was sectioned off on the inside using 4×1 inch timber. This helps reduce wasted compost, making it cost less to fill and weigh less in total. The inside of the planter is braced with 2×2 inch timber giving the planter increased stability. The planter comes pre-lined with a heavy-duty plastic lining with drainage holes in the bottom. All of the timber used is tanalised and FSC certified. This gives the planter suitable protection from the weather, making the planter last a long period. We see it as our responsibility to ensure that all of the wood we use is FSC certified, as in the current climate of the wood industry we want to ensure that we only use top-quality materials.
